Beyonce is a singer, songwriter, dancer and actress who has sold on estimated 100 million records as a solo artist. During her career in Destinys Child, she sold a further 60 million records, becoming one of the best-selling artists in music history.

She has won 22 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated female artiste in the awards history. Beyonce is the most awarded artiste at the MTV Video Music Awards with 24 wins. She was recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America as the Top Certified Artist in America during the 2000s decade. In 2009, she was named by Billboard as the Top Radio Songs Artist of the Decade. She was awarded the Millennium Award in 2011.

Beyonce became the highest paid black musician in history and was listed among Times 100 most influential people in the world for two consecutive years. Forbes listed her as the most powerful female in entertainment in 2015. The following year, she occupied the sixth position for Person of the Year. By May 2017, her net worth was estimated at $350 million.
Her first solo album, Dangerously in Love, has sold about 11 million copies worldwide. Her second album, BDay, debuted atop the Billboard 200, becoming her second consecutive number one album in the United States.

Her first acting role in 2006 was in the comedy film The Pink Panther. The film grossed $158.8 million at the box office. Her second film was Dreamgirls. It received critical acclaim and grossed 154 million globally. She released the soundtrack Listen to promote the film.
In April 2007, Beyonces first worldwide concert tour which grossed over $24 million. She conducted pre-concert food donation drives during six major stops in collaboration with her pastor at St. Johns and Americas Second Harvest.

She is an activist and feminist who contributed to the Ban Bossy campaign that uses television and social media to encourage leadership in girls. She has explored the themes of feminism and black empowerment in her work. She also condemned police brutality against black Americans. She has spoken against injustice and withdrawal of protection for transgender students in public schools by the current presidential administration.

Beyonce ventured into fashion by introducing House of Dereon, a contemporary womens fashion line in 2005. In 2014 she signed a deal to launch an activewear line of clothing with British fashion retailer Top Shop. The venture is called Ivy Park and was launched in 2016.

She is a philanthropist and was acknowledged as the Most Charitable Celebrity of the Year in 2016. She has supported many humanitarian events like Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief. She became an ambassador for the World Humanitarian Day campaign and donated her song I Was Here and its music video to the campaign.
